Founding Steering Committee: Communications and Development & Finance Subcommittees
QMLN is seeking two additional members to join the Founding Steering Committee, on the Communications and Development & Finance subcommittees.

The QMLN Founding Steering Committee is a volunteer-based group that works together to set the course for the future of the organization.
There are 6 subcommittees: Administration, Communications, DEAI, Development & Finance, Governance, and Outreach & Programs.
While most roles have been filled, we are still in need of one additional member to join the two existing members of our Communications and Development & Finance subcommittees.
The Founding Steering Committee operates fully remotely and the roles are open to applicants based anywhere in the world.
Time Commitment
July 2026 - July 2027
2 to 3 hours per week

Please note that Founding Steering Committee members are not compensated financially.
Communications Subcommittee: Brand Identity & Graphic Design
This member will join two existing members of the Communications Subcommittee, whose roles are PR & Strategy and Newsletter.
Qualifications
We consider all forms of work, including salaried, freelance, volunteering, internships, etc. as valuable experience.
Required:
Experience contributing to design and management of brand identity
Graphic design experience (2+ years preferred)
Experience (preferred) or interest in one or more fields:
Museums, libraries, archives, or similar institutions
LGBTQ+ history, culture, services, or advocacy
Workers' rights and wellness or identity-based ERGs
Preferred:
Experience with WordPress or similar web design platform
Experience designing and managing templates for social media and email newsletters
Experience with communications for nonprofit organization(s)
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may alter slightly throughout the course of the committee.
Participate in monthly Founding Steering Committee meetings
Attend Communications Subcommittee meetings (about twice a month)
Create and manage the brand identity of the organization
Update website with information and create new pages as needed
Create and manage design templates for social media and newsletter
Development & Finance Subcommittee: Individual Giving & Crowdfunding
This member will join three existing members of the Development & Finance Subcommittee, whose roles are Grants, Corporate Sponsorship, and Finance.
Qualifications
We consider all forms of work, including salaried, freelance, volunteering, internships, etc. as valuable experience.
Required:
Experience with individual giving for nonprofit(s) (2+ years preferred)
Experience (preferred) or interest in one or more fields:
Museums, libraries, archives, or similar institutions
LGBTQ+ history, culture, services, or advocacy
Workers' rights and wellness or identity-based ERGs
Experience contributing to some or all of the below:
Development of fundraising strategy
Launch and/or management of online campaigns
Prospect research
CRM data entry
Fundraising event planning
Email and social media donor solicitations
Preferred:
Experience managing or delegating tasks to others
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may alter slightly throughout the course of the committee.
Participate in monthly Founding Steering Committee meetings
Attend Development & Finance Subcommittee meetings (about twice a month)
Outline overall strategy and annual campaigns for individual giving and crowdfunding
Create and manage launch of first online crowdfunding campaign
Manage volunteers in prospect research and CRM data entry
Outline concept for first fundraising event
Collaborate with Communications Subcommittee on email and social media solicitations

If we decide to move forward with your application, we will ask to meet with you for one 30-minute video interview. Interviews will take place in the weeks following the July 10th application deadline, and we will offer the role to one candidate at the end of the interview process.
